Judge: Russell M. Mann

The office of the City Judge and Justice of the Peace is located in room 105 of the lower level of the Court House. Russell Mann is the judge, and the clerks are Leah Becker and Melissa Johnson. The office hours are Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

The court handles all traffic tickets for the city and county, as well as those written by the Montana Highway Patrol in Toole County, Gross Vehicle Weight tickets, Fish Wildlife and Parks tickets, tickets written to minors that relate to driving, alcohol or tobacco, and Animal Control tickets.

The court hears all small claims and civil matters within Shelby and Toole County and performs some marriages. The court has three Substitute Judges as appointed by Judge Mann. They are Leah Becker, Former Judge Jack Stokes and Dan Whitted.

The position of Justice of the Peace is an elected position, and the Judge serves a four year term.
