TOOLE COUNTY AIRPORT

The Toole County Airport provides essential mobility for local residents, visitors, and the traveling public. Conveniently located just minutes from Shelby—the county seat—the airport features a 5,000-foot paved and lighted primary runway, as well as self-serve fuel available around the clock. Hangars for aircraft storage and a courtesy car make it easy for pilots and passengers to access the community.

Dedicated on June 26, 1949, the airport has played a vital role in northern Montana’s transportation network for more than seven decades. Originally established to support postwar general aviation, it has since expanded its services to meet a wide range of needs, including agricultural spraying, flight instruction, and scenic air tours. Over the years, infrastructure improvements such as modern lighting, upgraded taxiways, and additional facilities have ensured the airport remains a safe and reliable hub for aviation activity in Toole County.
