The Toole County Road Department is made up of 14 dedicated employees who work year-round to maintain the county’s 1,187 miles of roads. The department is overseen by Road Supervisor Lloyd Omdahl, with Jim Ghekiere serving as Weed Supervisor.

Each year, the Weed Department hires 4 to 6 seasonal employees—many of whom are returning college students—to assist with countywide weed control from late May through late August.

The Toole County Road Board includes six community representatives, along with Lloyd Omdahl and County Commissioner Terry Tomsheck. Board members serve four-year terms, representing six distinct sections of the county.
